Frequently Asked Questions

- Are any chemicals used in your candles?
No, we keep our candles as natural as possible. All of our candles are made from natural Malaysian palm oil and natural oil scents, all imported from Germany. The nut pod is hand-washed and it’s not treated with any chemical.

- What is the difference between palm oil and paraffin wax?
Paraffin wax is made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource that is not biodegradable. Paraffin wax is cheaper than palm oil and can be difficult to clean up. Palm oil wax is a biodegradable, sustainable resource. It is also easy to clean up with warm soapy water.

- Do you use lead wicks in any of your candles?
No, we don't use any chemicals. Most of our wicks are made of 100% cotton and some others are paper core wicks.

- Can I burn my candles all day long?
Some people do, but we do not recommend it. Typical burning times are about 1 hour per inch in container diameter.

- Can I help prevent a candle from tunneling?
Yes, by burning a candle properly you can help reduce the risk of a candle tunneling. One helpful hint is that you when you decide to burn your candle, you should make sure you have enough time for the candle to achieve a full melt pool (this is typically about 1 hour per inch in diameter of the candle).

- How can I prevent my candle from smoking?
For optimum burn, trim the wick to 1/4” before every burn. A properly trimmed wick will prevent smoking. Never trim the wick while the candle is lit.

- How do I know when to trim the wick of my candle?
You can tell if you need to trim your candle by looking at the flame. If it is high and erratic, then you need to trim the wick. Also, if the flame is smoking or has ash build up on the end of the wick then trim to 1/8" while unlit. Be careful not to cut your wick too short, trim a little at a time.

- How can I remove soot from the candle?
If soot builds up inside container, clean with a dry paper towel or baby wipes.

- How can I put my candle out?
Some people cover the top of the container with a non-flammable object to avoid the smoke that is generated when they blow out their candles. We don’t recommend this; instead you can purchase a candle quencher which will help put out the flame without causing all the smoke.

- Do you accept returns if I'm not happy with my candle?
We typically would handle any return issues on a case by case basis.
For more information please visit our Return Policy link.

- What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You can place your orders through our secure online shopping cart or by phone. Don’t ever send your credit card information via email. We will fax or email you with a total, including shipping.

- Are credit card transactions safe?

Yes, all credit card transactions are securely processed using an SSL certificate.
